It was a fine weather day, everyone was happy, and there was nothing to indicate that this match would end in a blood bath. Okay, Bad Moon Backstabbers had made sure that the coin was palmed, but what can one expect of Goblins?
So they chose to receive the ball and cage it. Ann Griff decided to break the cage with a leap and get hold of the ball. Backstabbers retrieved the ball, though, and Grimhead Immergeil fouled Ann Griff out for the rest of the match. Backstabbers pushed down the field, and with no more blitzers participating in the match, the Bunnies were unable to get the ball back. 0 - 1 for Backstabbers - Fas Firmfoot the scorer.
Then Synne Buch's offence entered the field. A run-of-the-mill two team turns later the ball was in the hands of Thora Rulle, who was standing in the endzone. 1 - 1.
The Bunnies then lined up to stall the game, seemingly succeding part of the way. However Brickskull (N)everdodge overlooked his hunger and threw Dammit Sgudasguda down the field for a touchdown. 1 - 2 the score, but in the process Metha Dohn had killed dirty player Grimhead Immergeil, and the apothecary had failed to save him. This was a turning point.
The Bunnies' last turn of the first half failed to turn up a touchdown, and ended with a 2 - 1 lead for Backstabbers. It had been a half in which the Goblins had succeded in doing everything they set their minds on, and the Bunnies had been virtually unable to knock down any of the little green ones. THAT was about to change.
A quick Bunny offensive drive saw Synne Buch complete to Ulla Omar for the equalizing touchdown. 2 - 2. This spelled good omen for the second half for the Bunnies, and indeed it would be.
The league's most wanted player Fas Firmfoot chose to trip over his own legs killing himself in the beginning of the next drive. Apart from providing the Bunnies with a 100.000 gold pieces worth of bounty, it also provided them with the ball, as it had been left uncovered. Sarah Cen also wanted in on the fun however, and while Backstabbers were still stunned over the loss of Fas Firmfoot, she added to the casualty list by killing Carlos Cannonfodder thus clearing the way for a cage around the ball. Thora Rulle picked up the bal, and in the next turn she made it 3 - 2 for the Bunnies.
Then Scar Fishgutter decided he also wanted bit of the fun. The Backstabber head coach had forgotten to feed him before the match, and the Troll decided that he wanted to eat Dildo Deep, as he had of course also forgotten what the purpose was of picking him up in the first place. Dildo Deep squirmed free though, only to have his head crushed when he fell to the ground. The ball was loose, and Helle Dige Asen got hold of it and passed it to Synne Buch, who was in the luxury position of having to choose whether to go for a completion record or score the first touchdown of her career. She chose the latter, thus stalling the game a few turns, which saw another couple of casualties. Among other Brickskull (N)everdodge's revenge on Metha Dohn. 4 - 2.
In the last turn of the match Synne Buch made her sixth completion of the match. A feat she has now accomplished two matches in a row. The Backstabber Trolls spent their last turn looking really stupid.
The match ended 4 - 3. And it was indeed a match of two halves. In the first Backstabbers had all the luck in the crucial situations managing to stall the match, as the Bunny defence was not really functioning. Then came the second half which virtually saw Backstabbers rolling ones in the crucial situations while Bunnies would roll sixes
