It was fine weather for Blood Bowl as 51000 fans came to see Deadly Doom win an easy match and secure a place in the play-off. In the first half the bunnies did nothing to stop DD from getting ahead, and in the second half the bunnies failed to handle the ball, thus enabling DD to win as big as 3-0 for only the second time in the teams history. But on the other hand the bunnies acomplished what they wanted, to get past the match unharmed, as neither of the mummies managed to make any casualties.
The bunnies had bribed the ref to allow them to put 12 on the pitch, but then Sir Harvey Lickbottom realized that since Andro Gün was unavailable for the match, this hcp was rather useless. At least 2 cheerleaders (from the local PAN club?) joined the match increasing the interest from the fans a bit. (So basically two useless hcp rolls!)
All this bad luck continued as the bunnies had to kick-off and was surprised by the very alert undeads who quick snapped onto the bunnies part of the pitch.
Quickly a few bunnies was KOed, and after turn 4 a tight cage with Eata Corpus inside was formed half way down towards the end zone. Two fouls from dirty player Argos only stunned the victim, whereas a foul by bunny Ane Uråd was more effective as it BH Xorn. (He failed to regenerate so she must have kicked him where it hurt ;) )
From then on, the rest of the half was extremely booring, as the bunnies stayed on the ground, maybe hoping for some skeletons coming on to them? But they were not interested, especially not Eata Corpus who in the last turn made the games first TD for 1-0.
The bunnies again had a full team for second half as the DD fans for the third time this season, took their anger out on the ref. But this turned out to have little affect, as 4 more fouls only resultet in two stunned and a KO!
When the pass from the bunny quaterback was fumbled close to the LoS, she was blitzed down, and Eata Corpus ran to pick it up, and could already be fairly well protected by the other DD players, so two turns later, Eata Corpus passed the ball to The Green Ghost who ran the ball in for a 2-0 lead.
At the next kick-off a bad kick made the ball go deep into the bunnies pitch. This time the bunnies broke through the DD defences, but the reciver bunnies was promptly surounded by DD players, and D.Talje was knocked stunned. Also DD was charging down the field, where the quarter bunnies was caged with the ball.
As no recivers were easily reachable for the quick score, the quarter bunnies stayed in the cage. And then the other reciver bunnie Ane Uråd stunned her self on a failed dodge, and D.Talje was promptly KOed in a foul by kicker Brill who obviously also nows how to kick where it hurts.
This was followed up by DDs only casualty of the day, and it was by zombie Benno Brausekopf II, not even by a mumie. He BH Ru Tine, and thus only blitzer Gro Tæsk was left standing on DD’s pitch, but she was caged by four DD players. And now DD was attacking the ball cage. Benno Brausekopf II learned block from his succes.
The ball was hence passed to the other side, and run out of DD’s reach, but next turn a hand-off failed, and even thogh the ball bounced back to the hander, who caught it, the bunnies could not protect the ball carrier, and in their last turn a desperate long-bomb was tried, but of course fumbled (fumbled even on a 5).
In the end, Bram Stoker could then remove the fumbling players TZ from the ball, and The Green Ghost picked it up and made a hand-off to Eata Corpus for the finale TD to the result 3-0. (This last turn was performed without a re-roll! 3+, 2+). With his 2 TD and a completion Eata Corpus is now so famous he has become an emerging star, and he really seems to have increased his speed after that bounty came on his head!
DD had better luck with the treasury this time and earned 50 k but the bunnies got no less than 70 k!
However, the very borring first half cost the bunnies some fans, who left with the chearleaders, whereas many TDs seems to be what the DD fans wishes for, as they again increased their numbers in a match where the mummies did not make any casualties?
All in all the match went as could be expected when the bunnies were truly scared of the mummies, although a smaller victory for DD, like 2-1, would have seemed more realistic to begin with.
