Almost rookie team SS hired all they could to even the odds against DR, including a chef, a wizard, two apos and two bribes. (EDIT: What the hell is up with not being able to buy star players in the playoffs? Kinda negates the whole inducements thing, doesn't it?)
And then they received the high kick and put He who is darknes in a cage. This did not bother Holy Spirit who easily leapt in and psyched himself to even the strength of the skink and then pushed him back and stripped the ball. It bounced out and Jesus got it in a semi cage. (EDIT: Because why wouldn't a 1 dice block in a 7 man cage result in the ball bouncing out and a friggin rat getting his stinking paws on it and then geting in a semi cage? no reason I can see!)
After Kimpelflękker had taken revenge by killing Uranus it was realized that nothing could be done to get round the cage, except of course by using the wizard. (EDIT: Yes it could. I could have two dice blocked him with a GFI on a saurus, but decided to try and inflict max pain early on in the match, and it was a golden opportunity to fuck with one of those annoying gutter runners) So at the end of the attack a fire ball exploded over three linerats and Jesus, taking only two down, but the important was that Jesus was stunned. (EDIT: YAY... my wizard stunned one rat... mighty blow RULES!)
The ball was then retrieved by Buddha next turn, but when Poseidon failed a dodge the thrower could not be protected and it was no problem for Child of Nuggan to take him down. But the skink failed the pick-up. (EDIT: SURPRISE) However, DR could not get at it, with several runners and other players stunned. But at least they put some pressure on and forced the TD next turn by He who is darknes (EDIT: What kynde is trying to say is that he couldn't protect his guys, but despite his players having all the skills in the world, but I could...)
DR then received and with the ball deep Jesus had to pass it to Buddha. But the other runners was all within scoring reach. (EDIT: But ALL covered by at least one guy!) A BH was inflicted by The Fifth Elephant on Thor B and then a bribe had to be used to keep He who is darknes on pitch after fouling Frej B stunned. (EDIT: I friggin fouled all the way through that game, but those damn rats wont get injured!)
Buddha handed the ball back to Jesus who then passed to God. He then blitzed a skink down on the run for the tying TD 1-1. (EDIT: Sounds easy doesn't it... running past a lot of players, handing of in a TZ, one dice blocking my diving tackle saurus away and then blitzing for the td... Well, it was, but only for kyndes damn rats!)
Once more a bribe was need to keep Fallen Angel on pitch, again for stunning Frej B. But with this out of the way SS kept the ball in a tight cage to prevent Holy Spirit from getting an even blitz in. However, this meant that they could only put one player in TD range, and Eater of Souls was easily taken down. (EDIT: Foul, foul foul... damn rats wont get injured!)
So the cage had to move forward, and this time Holy Spirit took the chance even though he had to leap in next to guarding saurus The Fifth Elephant. But it was no problem for Holy Spirit to wrestle the Wayward Son to the ground, and when The Fifth Elephant failed to catch the bouncing ball it ended up on the side line in only his TZ. (EDIT: That's right children... a leap, a two dice against block, that gets me down, a lucky bounce out of a 7 MAN CAGE! so there is only 1 tz on the ball... yup... that's damn good coaching...) Jesus spotted his chance and came running in to the ball, taking it, then leaping out and a long pass later The Mother could catch the ball and run it in for 2-1. (EDIT: Again... sounds easy doesn't it? dodge into a TZ, dodge again in a TZ, pick up in a TZ, Leap, Long Pass (without pass) catch (without catch), GFI, GFI (without sure feet)... oh, well... I should have realized that a 7 man cage was insufficient...)
SS tried a one turn, but took the linerat they needed to push down in the first block and then they had to kick for DR in 2nd half. (EDIT: Because why would that succeed? Kynde set up so I could avoid all Diving tackle and tackle players, and I had the AG4 to pick up and the sprint sure feet to score... why would a push succeed? Bad coaching on my part there...)
Jesus caught the kick, and ran into position and passed it back to Buddha. SS's skinks tried to get to the thrower, but only one made it, as the last one failed a dodge and was SI bad, but one of the apos cured him so he was ready later. (EDIT: Again... Kynde had messed up his protection and I could get a two dice block on his thrower... I just needed to dodge a bunch of times with stunty players with dodge and an extra re-roll should I need it... well, I spent it, but I still went down.. bad coaching again...)
Now it was no problem to blitz Buddha free so he passed it for Jesus who could then run it in for an almost sure victory 3-1. (Edit: "no problem" well... he still had to blitz my side step skink away - no problem - then he had to pass and catch the ball - no problem - then he had to dodge twice - no problem... Skavens who don't have "problems" get frustrating after a while)
This was then instantly made sure, when a good short kick was caught by Jesus when DR came blitzing out. The cage was even so tight around him that he wasn't even attacked and soon it was 4-1. (EDIT: At this point I was focusing on injuring Jesus... fouling him every turn... did that help? well, no of course not...)
Back to back blitzes (EDIT: That's right children... two blitzes in a row) could have made it a very high TD score, but even though Jesus managed to get there and eventually caught the kick, it was so deep that the other players needed to run all they could and then some, and the first to try this The Mother came tumbling down.
SS then managed to take Jesus down, and the rest of the half they spend trying to injure DR in a foul spree. This also meant that He who is darknes just ran away with the ball but stopped on the edge of the TZ zone. (EDIT: When rats have "no problems", you just have to sigh, stall and kill as many of the fuckers as you can!)
In the fouling process SS managed to KO Jesus in a foul (EDIT: the 1.000.000th foul on Jesus that game... he doesn't get injured!!! I should have nailed the fucker to a cross, that USED to help!), but with no more bribes a skink was finally thrown out. This didn't stop the fouling but no more came of it. However, Kimpelflękker managed to SI Brage A so he is now slower than a Rat Ogre! (EDIT: Yay... turn 15 injuries always help...)
In the end He who is darknes waited a turn too long, as God was back on the right side of the pitch, and he managed to take the skink down stunned, (EDIT: with a GFI, GFI, one dice block without tackle... but yeah, why not...?) and with his annoying TZ on the ball, lying in the EZ, it was all but impossible for normal skink to dodge past him, and with a diving tackle God ended the match 4-1 for DR. (EDIT: and what a nice unbiased report it was)
DR only earned 60k, but in spite of all the spiralling expenses they still just managed to scrape enough gold together for a replacement for Uranus. (EDIT: Now will someone PLEASE kill those fuckers?)
