In perfect blood bowl weather the two teams turned up for the first match of the season. The Bunnies were bequeathed with reasonably useful high table handicap rolls thus bereaving the Clawkillers of re-rolls for the entire match as well as bringing about the arrest of a rookie beastman who had to miss the game.
In the first drive, during which the clawkillers were on the receiving end, the Bunnies were dodging and running out of harm’s way thus giving clawkillers an early lead.
For the next drive the Clawkillers managed to pull up a blitz, but failed to corner the Bunnies completely. After many twists and turns a Bunny receiver managed to wriggle through Clawkillers’ defence, and the quarterbunnies were not late to exploit the opportunity 1-1.
The last drive of 1st half was a relentless march down field for Clawkillers, but with a heroic effort the Bunnies managed to stall the chaos team, to a situation, where a one-dice multiple block and two 4+ dodges were required to score a last minute touchdown. One of the dodges failed, and the score was equal at half-time.
Before the first drive of the second half the Clawkillers again managed to pull up a usefull kick-off roll – namely perfect defence. It took a lot of sideways movement, but once again Bunnies managed to produce the necessary hole in Clawkillers’ defence. And after some dodging another receiver managed to enter the endzone holding the ball.
2-1 for the Bunnies, and the Clawkillers had to pull up some fast plays to secure victory. But the Bunnies were not going to be run down. After some heroic defending, during which the Bunnies always managed to keep a wall of people between Clawkillers’ ball-carrier and the endzone, they managed to stall the drive so much, that the equalizer came just one turn before the end of the match.
With no chances of further scoring, the Bunnies focused on keeping out of harm’s way and getting a final completion before it was all over.
