24,000 spectators - 12,000 supporting each team - turned up for an unprecedented spectacle.
The Bunnies would receive the ball, and lined up with Ko Π poised to get the ball. A lucky scatter and a quick snap meant that rookie receiver Mai Stram Kusse would catch the ball near the line of the scrimmage, though. The Bunnies would pounce through on the sideline and cage her there. The Orcs were dumbfounded and could not threaten the position. A blitz by Lone Star cleared the way for Mai Stram Kusse for the touchdown. 1-0.
Lovers would then receive the ball and cage it. However, the agile Elves would eventually break through and a fight for the ball ensued. On more than one occasion it looked as if the Bunnies would get away with the ball, but in the end Dolph would get hold of it and run towards the endzone. A sigh of relief went through the audience, as the final team re-roll secured the go-for-its. 1-1.
By the start of the second half the Bunnies were thoroughly decimated, and things looked even more grim, as Zorglub the Great decided that one touchdown had to be enough and killed Mai Stram Kusse. The Bunnies had to take a chance, and a magic formula from Sir Harvey Lickbottom on the sideline would send a lightning bolt right down in the head of a ball-carrying Black Orc. With the ball loose, agile Lone Star was in her right element and got hold of it. Sisse Fisse charged to her aid and tried to shield her from harm. The Orcs went after the two with everything they had, and the ball was loose again. The ball was recovered twice by the Bunnies, and at one point - due to sloppy coverage by the Orcs - Lone Star was very unfortunate to fall during the dodge that would have given the Bunnies a touchdown. The Orcs now improved their coverage, got hold of the ball and caged it in the middle of their own half of the field. But despite the much better coverage, Sisse Fisse had a lotto-dice field day. She blitzed down the ball-carrier, dodged through the cage, picked up the ball, came out in the other end and scrambled for the endzone. Svend Sved was on the chase, but his two frenzy blocks only pushed Sisse Fisse into the endzone for a touchdown. 2-1.
With two turns left the Orcs went into no-huddle and quickly sent 3 players within scoring range. With 6 players left on the field of which 1 was stunned and one was lying around on the field, the Bunnies still made a 2 player coverage on each of the two Orc Blitzers within scoring range, hoping the Troll would refrain from throwing the Goblin. A blitz eased the pressure on Zorglub the Great who was poised to receive Jimi Grydehår's pass. But his shadowing nemesis Guillo-Tine willed it otherwise. On the needed dice-roll of 6 she intercepted the pass much to the dismay of Lover's coach.
2-1 the final score in a game where the Bunnies produced som good moves, but due to lack of player material in the end-game was more than extremely fortunate to pull off both points.
