The Army faced the most valued team Divine Rats, and thus they had induced both Varag Ghoul-Chewer, Bomber Dribblesnot, a wizard and a babe. With this they had 13 players ready as they kicked to DR.
A quick move down pitch left plenty of chances for a 2 turn TD, but just as the Orcs turn ended, their wizard could not wait any longer and just had to burn of a fireball. But Jesus took the heat, getting KOed in the process, but thus he completely protected both God, Madonna and Zeus. But it did make it more difficult to score.
So the rats began to change sides a couple of times, but when first Svend Sved SI Thor A and when both God and Muhammad were KOed, the rats began to feel the need to score. Luckily Buddha had the ball secure down their own pitch, and Lovers never send anyone after him. So when Svend Sved fell on a go for it, and BH him self, the chance for a turn 5 TD presented it self, and Madonna caught the pass using his nerves of steel in the presence of two orcs, and then a simple dodge and 0-1 for DR.
With only 4 turns left the Bomber stayed off pitch, because the two KOed Orcs came back. DR could also field 11 but only God came back from the KO box. (The rat ogre never woke up for the match).
When Kynde kurveflet failed to pick up the ball, it scattered to Buckingham Immergeil who caught it. But he were subsequently knocked down by Zeus. This time the ball ended up at Bamse who caught it on a 6! But with the TZ of God on him, he never tried to move. Next turn God dodged out to get his TZ on the only scorings threat from the orcs Richard Ragnvald.
Then Holy Spirit managed to take the BOB down, and the ball scattered past an Orc and out into only 1 TZ. Holy Spirit dodged out again and obtained the ball. But he could not be well protected. So Zorglub the Great got him down, but unlucky for the orcs the ball ended up at the sine line behind a linerat.
In the last turn DR hence had a chance to score for 0-2. Jupiter were the only one who could, and with a blitz he made it to the EZ, but it cost the team RR on a go for it. Still Holy Spirit got up, dodged into the ball, took it and dodged past an orc on the side line, and made the long pass straight to Jupiter, but he failed the catch that could have secured the win. Furthermore the ball bounced to the crowd who threw it 8 squares up giving the orcs a chance to score.
Before they took that chance, they decided to blitz ball stealer Holy Spirit and they got him down, and then a bunch of orcs surrounded him and the ref did not even notice when Zark Immergeil killed him in a lousy foul. The team apo of course tried but for the first time he almost failed, and the poor rat will have to live with a smashed collar bone decreasing his ST.
Still the orcs had a long shot at scoring and, and when troll Anton Adams managed to take down God so his TZ would not be on Richard Ragnvald, it suddenly became possible. But when Varag Ghoul-Chewer’s pass were inaccurate it seemed over, but no not yet, the ball landed on the troll who failed to catch it, and now it bounces to Richard Ragnvald. But he was still in the TZ of Tyr and hence failed the catch. Had Tyr been blitzed instead of Holy Spirit the catch would have worked and a TD for 1-1 been the result. But the Orcs looked to be outnumbering the rats for 2nd half.
But with 3 out of 4 KOs coming back, and with the rain beginning to pour down, the orcs could have gotten into trouble against 11 rats. (But still without Rat Ogre). And the pick-up did fail again for Kynde kurveflet. The ball ended in 3 Orc TZ, so Zeus blitzed a BOB into the ball square, but it bounced once again to Buckingham Immergeil who caught it on the needed 6.
Two runners got there to annoy the orcs, but then the Orc really began kicking back. First Kynde kurveflet BH Madonna, and God were KOed. And then Varag Ghoul-Chewer killed Jupiter so Lovers could claim the 20k bounty on his behalf! When Jesus also were KOed along with a couple of line rats only 5 rats lay prone on the ground as the orcs cage slowly moved down pitch and Buckingham Immergeil scored in the last turn for 1-1.
As 3 KOs came back including both gutter runners, the one turn attempt was far from impossible, especially as the orcs could only field 10 players, as they had a KO the babe could not wake, and the bomber had to leave the pitch for the dungeon. So they could not close the EZ as well as they should.
But with a perfect defence this did not matter and in the pouring rain the rats felt like the losers although they did bring home a tie.
Both throwers received the MVP, Kynde kurveflet for making a cas, not for failing to pick-up twice! And Buddha for completing for the 0-1 TD. He learned block from this.
