A typical welf vs. rats match enfolded as Renegades crashed with DR. The welfs scored at their leisure in their own receiving of each half, and the skavens had to fight for each TD. But in the end the rats came out on top during their own receiving and only a one turn TD by the welfs ensured the tie. It was none the less the rats who felt lucky with the tie.
DR received and had two runners in position for the two turn TD, but when Celemir showoff II SI (MNG) Jesus and Jean-Claude Forfanden d.2. killed Heimdal, it took a lot of go for its, and a catch in a TZ before Holy Spirit could score for 0-1. In the process Madonna managed a completion down the rats own pitch, to learn block.
Then the Renegades received and quickly had Elwë in the EZ with the ball for 1-1.
A better offence gave DR a sure chance of a two turns TD for 1-2, but before Madonna would run it in, a simple go for it by Holy Spirit would have given Muhammad two times 3 dice on one turner Mirascael. But double 1 on the go for it, and the rats were in big trouble. Soon Jean-Claude Forfanden d.2. had the ball next to their own EZ. But instead of trying to blitz him, Muhammad managed to put his TZ on both him and the one turner, and with the diving tackle of God there too and no RR Jean-Claude Forfanden d.2. were not ready to leap. Instead a hand-off to Mirascael worked. But then he failed the dodge away from Muhammad prehensile tail. And thus the ball was in reach by Madonna who grabbed it and ran in for the TD she should have scored 3 turns earlier. 1-2.
But with Mirascael on the pitch, it seemed no problem for Renegades to make a one turner, even without any RR, and a 4+, 2+ dodge with dodge and a 3+ dodge without! 2-2. From this the catcher learned side step.
During first half Oldbirch Longleaf had killed Balder and in the first drive of 2nd half he BH Rat Ogre Muhammad. Also Darian of Deepwood managed a BH on Freja. To compensate DR had managed 3 BHs. Only a few KOs were made during the match.
As usual it was no problem for Renegades to score, again with Elwë (who thus learned dodge).
But DR had some serious problems. A long pass on 4+ failed for thrower Buddha and scattered down close to the elf’s EZ. It was quickly returned down to Mirascael. But he had been prone and was not in the EZ. Soon several rats surrounded him and two other elves. He was not knocked down in the blitz, but with God’s TZ on him he never managed to try and get away. Before coming to this another elf failed a dodge through a TZ. Thus DR regained the ball. And once again a simple 2+ dodge would almost secure the TD, at least leave Madonna safe with the ball. But alas another double 1! Of course the elves got the ball free, but RR was spent and then the pickup failed. DR then went for the TD, and Madonna had to run all she could with the ball to get a short pass to Holy Spirit waiting in the EZ, and it was a TD for 3-3.
The elves got both their one turner and their thrower back to the pitch from the KO box, the latter only due to the nice Halfling babe in the dugout, and thus a one turner was very likely. But without a RR a double both down is not good enough and Mirascael did not get the push he needed.
Thus the match ended 3-3 much to the delight of the rats!
