Born into a wealthy family of the landed gentry Karen Tæhne grew up on the family mansion. As a child she was (and still is) particularly headstrong. Soon she did not get on very well with her family, and in her early teens she moved to the city to join a left wing militant organization. By that time she discarded the ”von” from her name to remove everything that just reminded her of nobility. (Her name was originally Karen von Tæhne – named after the fountain in the mansion garden). Starting her new life in the lower hierarchy of the organisation she was often sent on the missions with the highest risks of discovery, and more often than not her family had to bail her out of prison. At one point her family refused to help her further and instead that job was taken over by the family’s benefactor Sir Harvey Lickbottom III who was a classmate of Karen’s father at
Eton. For his kind benevolence Karen Tæhne agreed to play for his team.
In the PlayBall Troupe of Actors® she forms companionship with Gunnar Rée, brother of former Danish minister of fishing
Knud Rée.
Karen Tæhne entered the team before the sixth round match of season 13 and was retired due to her injury after the cross-over round of season 15 just before play-offs. She played a total of 21 matches for the team. She was part of the gross troupe of season 15 thus giving her a share of the championship. She is currently appointed as pass block coordinator for the Bunnies.
