DD had doomed the match to be their revenge after the last failed encounter against the Headz. On top of this they had a serious grudge on the leagues top killer Hanzz who took out Zed back in their first encounter.
And DD got what they wished for, and even more so, when they not only won, but also killed both Squiil'A who is now playing for DD as Squiil: a Zombie but also Ramses the 5th took out the super star Hanzz preventing him from ever making more cas than him (Hanzz was only one cas short of Ramses the 5th before this his last match today).
In front of another record gate DD kicked the ball to Headz in the blinding sunshine. The rats came bursting out in a quick snap, but Hanzz did not feel all to well and made a poor blitz. He had been feeling rather old since his huge effort in his previous match against Bad Moon Backstabbers. Hence the apotech had to help him get ready for the match.
With this poor blitz, the rats took no chances and one turner Zpeedy Gonzales'dangudiz' did exactly that making it 1-0 before DD knew what hit them!
But then the rats quickly felt the same way, they just did not know what hit them! But it was DD’s two top pain inflictors Dirty Player Argos and “The Wall” Ramses the 5th.
First Argos fouled Squiil'A to death and with the apo gone, he was immediately raised onto DD as Squiil: a Zombie. This was quickly revenged by Hanzz who KOed the DP, but that was to be his last move, as Ramses the 5th pushed it all he could to blitz him, and that was the end of Hanzz. With Necromancer Kynde busy raising Squiil: a Zombie he missed the great opportunity to have Hanzz raised onto his team as well, what a pity for DD ;)
The rats kept falling into the injury box (by themselves almost). First WhoZzthisz Fretty? was BH in a failed dodge, and then Zheese'n'Zhong was BH by Argos in a failed block. Finally, in the end of the first half, a confused Rat Ogre Tearr A'Parte was pushed into his own fans, who had loathed his poor play so much that they kicked him in the groin, so he must miss the next match.
5 casualties in the first half and on top of that 3 KOs meant that only 3 rats were left on pitch when Mad Max strolled in for the equalizing TD: 1-1. As none of the KOs came back in only 6 rats faced DD at the start of second half, as the weather suddenly changed into a blizzard.
Hence, even though Xorn was send of for fouling, it only took two turns before Lex Liche could pass the ball to Mean Midget so he could make his first TD ever, taking the match to 1-2.
But now all KOed rats came back in, while the ref had called an injury time, and DD kicked to nine rats, including Zpeedy Gonzales'dangudiz' who got hold of the ball, and sprinted over the EZ for his second one turner of the day, making it even in the slippery condition, thus tying the match once again: 2-2.
In the next drive DD's players took their time, grinding their way slowly down pitch with the ball once again safe in the arms of Mad Max. And finally towards the end of the match Argos got his dirty hands on Zpeedy Gonzales'dangudiz' KOing him, before Mad Max ran the ball in for 2-3, thus becoming a true BB star learning Sure Feet.
While the fans cheered for DD, Headz realized that they had no chance of yet another one turner to tie the match, as Zpeedy Gonzales'dangudiz' failed to be ready for their very last drive, and the match ended with DD victorious.
DD once again gained new fans, although not from the Headz who at least earned 60 k (vs. 30) which they can use to rebuild the team.
Both MVPs went to the same player, as Squiil'A received The Headz’ MVP post hum, and on DD his reanimated body Squiil: a Zombie received the MVP for getting up on the line of scrimmage, much to the consternation of his former team mates :D
DD got their revenge, and is now heading for total domination of group A, while Headz lost their best line rat, and their biggest profile, and will have to try and mend the team back together before they reach the play-off.
