DD’s victory was expected, but 4-1, 4-1 (1-0) was even better than the Undead could have expected. It is the first time DD have scored more than 3 TDs in a match.
The weather was fine and 70.000 fans (16 + 54k) as well as all niggling players from both teams made it to the match (but two of 49ers best players were not available after last match).
Although DD won comfortably they did, however, have no idea what happened in the first turn. Suddenly the mummies realized, even before they made a move, that the team was behind 1-0 as Pitt made a one turner. He thus learned sure feet.
This was not to their likeing, and in the next 3 turns 3 casualties and 3 KOs reduced the number of rats on pitch. Ramses the 5th KOed Vermin Putin, then killed Robert (the apo healed him) and finally he smashed the angle of Fidel. The other mummy Ra only made a KO but it was on Rat Ogre Igor. And finally S. Finxter crushed the skull on Putin. Thus both Vermins and the Ogre was out. Furthermore the dangerous Claw/Fang linerat Stalin was KOed in a foul by Argos.
In turn 5 Mad Max tied the match 1-1. In this way he learned block.
Only the Rat Ogre came back on c49, whereas both KOed DD players (among these Eata Corpus) came back.
A big mistake by c49 left the ball lying freely and in reach of Eata Corpus who then got hold of it and passed it to The Green Ghost. With his sure hands he did not really fear strip baller Robert taking a two against blitz, but he should, as the Gutter got double clean, the only result that could floor The Green Ghost. Nothing happened with him though, and the ball bounced to and was caught by Eata Corpus. Two turns later The Green Ghost, who got the ball back, scored for 1-2 before half time.
Again only one KO came back on c49 and one turner Pitt was still KOed. A very defensive setup of c49 meant that they could not take advantage of the blitzing start they had, and with Ra BHing pingo it only took DD 3 turns to let S. Finxter score for 1-3.
As Pitt was still KOed, (only 1/4 KO back) and c49 only had 7 vs a full DD team, they had trouble getting down pitch although finally Stalin made a SI on Geleb Reanimated. After this Argos again fouled Stalin KO.
When they finally got a player down pitch, it was only Robert who came alone with the ball, and he was soon down, and The Green Ghost picked it up. Then it was easy for DD to run down pitch, and in the last turn the ball was handed to S. Finxter who thus scored the 4th TD, his second, and he thus learned Guard.
Before last turn both the injured zombie regenerated, and also the one turner woke up, so there was a chance for a TD by c49, but although the runner managed to dodge through 3 TZ he failed on the first of three go for its, and the score was 1-4.
The thrower Tyson got the MVP and learned accurate, wheras Geleb Reanimated did not learn anything from his MVP.
There were lots of money (50 vs 70 k) and some of c49 fans liked DD more so some went that way. In this way DD remains the most popular team in Aros BBL.
