As expected DD took their 3rd win over Orcs, and their second win over GG in this strangely non violent match.
A season record of 106 k fans had showed up (38 + 68 k), in the fine BB weather, and this may have been because the DD fans smelled the victory after the last two defeats? But why so many Orcs came? (An extreme average of 4.75 pr FF for the orcs, 4.5 for DD and 4.6 in total, gave the record by 5k)
GGs sole niggling failed, and with Stecher missing the game only 12 orcs faced the 13 DD players, as both niggling Ghouls came. This should prove vital for DD as all 3 DD ghouls each made a TD.
As DD recived, Eata Corpus soon had the ball within scoring reach, and when a few orces was cleared away, he only needed two go for it to score in turn 3. But as the first had to be re-rolled and he was then out of blitzing reach, Eata Corpus decided to wait a turn. But it became a little to exiting for DD, aftter a blitzer got his TZ on the Ghoul, and the thrower was in the way for the help. The problem arose when the second dobule skull in 4 turns stole the turn RR away. However, it should be a piece of cake, for Eata Corpus to blitz the blitzer away with an assist. But then followed double both down, and the orc stayed, and the ghoul had to dodge, but it was a 1! Lukily the blitzer did not have tackle, and the dodge roll worked, and it was 0-1 by Eata Corpus.
Second drive began with a rock stuning the Troll Fleischhammer, but two turns later he got up and blitzed Wolf smashing the zombies collar bone (-ST). But in turn 7 only one blitzer came within scoring reach, and when he was downed, the orcs could not tie the first half.
In second half newly regenerated Wolf got back up against Fleischhammer and this proved vital, as the troll could not wait and already in the turns second action he wanted to hit the zombie again, and although he was willing to hit, he was not good at it, and a both down/skull, saw a quick turn over, and this time the zombie was only stunned.
Due to the nice kicking of Brill the ball was now in reach, although even after a nice blitz, the ball had bounced into the TZ of an orc blitzer. This did, however, not bother The Green Ghost who dodged through the blitzers TZ, picked up the ball with his sure hands, and dodged away and passed to Eata Corpus who then was caged on DDs half (3+, 3+ (SH), 2+, 3+ (RR on pass), 2+).
This was almost better than a blitz. A few turns later Wolf the Zombie was up again and pushed Fleischhacker off the pitch to be BH in the crowd. The Green Ghost ran into scoring position, and then he did a marvelous thing as he took down orc blitzer Schlachter who took a double - double skull on his blitz! Hence after clearing the way, Eata Corpus handed the ball back to The Green Ghost who secured the victory by scoring for 0-2.
In the last drive the troll KOed Wolf who he had been really mad at all match, but in the last turn only black orc Knochenmühle were in scoring reach. And it was not even the one with AG3. In the blinding sunshine the pass was used up the RR, and hence the Black orc failed to catch on 6+. The Green Ghost was not late to take advantage of this, and in the matchs last seconds, he hurled the ball into the sun (5+) to new Ghoul Mad Max who caught it to make a TD in the first drive he was ever on pitch! 0-3 for DD.
Obviously the MVP for DD went to Wolf the Zombie for regenerating his SI and getting back up against the troll securing the victory when he took the troll down in his own fall. And also for inflicting the onle DD casualty by pushing a blitzer into the crowd. The troll, learns his first skill on the cas, and it will probably be block, but it came to late for this match...
The other MVP went to Black Orc Knochensäge who is also most likely to learn block!
With only 2 casualties, 2 KOs and no permanent damages the fans were not happier than they just stayed with their own teams. But the high gate gave 90 vs 70 k in earnings.
All in all the Orcs had some bad blocking, but it was not that DD did not take it's share of double skulls (4 in the first 7 turns). The difference, however, was that DD never had a turnover, wereas GG had two fatal TO in the first drive of second half, making an expected victory for DD in to a sure victory!
