In the cross DR had the misfortune of drawing the heavy dwarf team MC. With enough inducement to hire both a bribe and Flint Churnblade with his chainsaw.
But the rats looked god when they came blitzing out after a ball kicked within reach. But alas, a double 1 on a go for it after the blitz and God where down stunned before Jesus could get to a catching position and be caged in…
The ball was now secured by MC who then KOed two LoS rats, and Harry Colquhoun SI the last Heimdal A (niggling). Removing still more rats it became difficult to stop the dwarf cage. Most importantly Lachlan Colquhoun SI Zeus so bad the apo had to prevent him from loosing his speed. But he will still MNG. The chains saw stunned Muhammad, at first but when it then failed twice in a row, Muhammad finally managed to take him down SI the cheater. For this Muhammad learned to guard.
But at the end of the half dwarf runner Kevin Colquhoun suddenly found himself standing up against both the tail of Muhammad and the diving tackling God. And with no chance to remove both he decided to hand the ball to Hamish Colquhoun. But this failed. And suddenly new hope arose for the rats. With a little effort Jesus grabbed the ball, but alas he was tackled when trying to dodge away to give it to God. Had this succeeded though, the latter could have run out of reach for a sure TD.
Instead Kevin Colquhoun picked the ball up again, and scored in the half's last turn 0-1.
But one turn remained and there where plenty of rats left to go for a one turner. All Muhammad needed to do was make a blitz, but a wild animal can fail because he is such a loner so no blitz. Even the completion attempt failed due to another double 1 rolled in that same turn (1 on WA 1 on loner). But fist after Loke had SI Aiden Colquhoun.
DR then received and soon had the ball caged down pitch. And with Kevin Colquhoun crowd surfed by Muhammad to a KO he failed to wake from and with Thor B SI Roymond Colquhoun so the apo had to heal him it looked god!
But with numerous go for its, that never needed RR the dwarf stopped the rats. But two times DR changed sides thus getting into almost sure TD range. But then Cory Colquhoun SI Loke MNG and the same happened to God, again by the hands of Lachlan Colquhoun. And finally a sole long beard decided that a foul on Muhammad was a good idea - it turned out to be right with a KO.
Thus Madonna was forced to tie the match 1-1. But only three runners, the thrower and 4 linerats where left to fight in the next drive as the Rat Ogre failed to awake.
A blitz by God needed a go for it, and RR was needed and then a double skull the result. And soon after that God where BH by another dwarf Coran Colquhoun (who learned a new skill from that) and there where no hope left for DR to stop the dwarf cage. The last players thus just tried to survive the remainder of the match. In the end Madonna ran from side to side to avoid the dangerous Lachlan Colquhoun. Before the last turn she went to hide behind two linerats. One of these needed a go for it though to hide her, and double 1 (second time - on the first go for it in three turns) and he went down.
And then Samuel Colquhoun scored the winning TD ending a horrible match for DR, where nothing worked although they had many chances.
Until that fatal turn the team had only suffered MNG, but that was the final blow to make their day! Of course they did not earn any money from the game, but next time, when they can only field 9 players and two journey men they should be sure to earn a little…
